Allies For The Arts 3/17/18

March 22, 2018 by gracie fisher

This past Saturday we had our first art event 2018! The First United Methodist Church of Santa Barbara was kind enough to let us use their fellowship hall.  There, we hosted a plethora of projects ranging from terra-cotta pot fairy gardens to our colorful mural designed by Sara Wilcox.  Kids and their families were able to come between the hours 10-3 to participate in the event. ''Allies For The Arts'' would not have been possible without the help from are amazing family of volunteers.  From school special education teachers to occupational therapists, these volunteers were able to devote one-on-one attention to participants. We also had a small birthday celebration for one of our very good friends and loyal volunteer - John Houchin! We had so much fun and can’t wait for the next event!  Stay tuned for upcoming dates.

“Disability is not a brave struggle or courage in the face of adversity. Disability is an art. It’s an ingenious way to live.”
